Wellspring Press

I am Alex Banks. I hold a PhD in feminist theology and trauma from Charles Sturt University, with postdoctoral research at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. These days my working life sits at the meeting point of chaplaincy, teaching, and making things with my hands. I currently serve as Chaplain and RAVE Coordinator at an Anglican school in Victoria, where I write and lead chapel services and religious education across primary and secondary years.

Alongside that, I'm a glass artist, my faceted glass installations engage biblical narrative directly, including an award-winning piece called Chapel of Light, so the writing and the glasswork have always been doing the same thing in different materials. I also co-host The Theology Pod with my husband, Michael, and, most recently, and most happily, became a grandmother to Jude.

Wellspring Press starts with my book drawn from that same source but written for different seasons: Deep Waters, a Lenten devotional for unhurried discipleship, and a forthcoming resource to help schools run spirituality days that actually land with students. More will follow. The source doesn't run dry.
